CryptoTrader (cryptotrader.app) sells an AI powered momentum strategy that runs on your own exchange account. It says your money never leaves you, that the strategy needs at least 10,000 USDC to start, and that since 2018 its members have beaten Bitcoin with smaller drawdowns. France’s market regulator, the AMF, put the site on its blacklist of crypto asset services on 11 June 2024.
Performance tables you cannot check
The site shows a table of results by market phase, including a bear market running into 2026. There is no audited record behind it and no company name to hold responsible. A strategy that has really beaten Bitcoin since 2018 would be sold by a registered firm, not by a page with no owner.
If you connected your account
- Delete the API key on your exchange today.
- Change your exchange password and turn on two factor login.
- Export your trade history for the period.
- Report the service to the AMF or your own regulator.

“We can never withdraw your funds”
This is the clever part of the pitch. The site says CryptoTrader can never withdraw your funds, because it trades through access keys on your own exchange account. That sounds safe. But a key that can trade can also lose, and a stranger who controls your trades controls your balance in every way that matters. Many people who lost money this way never saw a withdrawal leave their account. They watched it trade itself to nothing.
