The first thing a visitor to AltusFX (altusfx.com) sees is a slider: “Enjoy an INSTANT 20% BONUS credited to your account.” The second is a meta description calling it a “regulated broker”. Greece’s Hellenic Capital Market Commission disagrees, and published a warning that reached IOSCO’s I-SCAN network on 2 July 2026.
Why a 20% bonus is a warning, not a gift
Deposit bonuses are banned for retail clients across the EU and the UK for a reason. A bonus is usually tied to a trading-volume requirement: until you trade a set number of lots, neither the bonus nor your own deposit can be withdrawn. Brokers without a licence use bonuses to keep money on the platform and to justify refusing withdrawals later.
AltusFX’s website also claims more than 100,000 traders. A broker whose domain was registered in June 2025 would need to have signed up hundreds of clients a day to reach that number, and it names no auditor or regulator who could confirm it.

What stands behind AltusFX
| Company | Altus Markets Limited |
|---|---|
| Registered office | The Sotheby Building, Rodney Bay, Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia |
| Registration | International business company 2025-00476, not a licence |
| Platform | MT5, “zero commissions” |
| Traders claimed | 100,000+ |
| Domain registered | 25 June 2025 |
A Saint Lucia company number is a business registration. Saint Lucia does not license forex brokers, so calling AltusFX “regulated” on that basis is misleading. The Greek regulator’s warning means it found AltusFX offering services to Greek residents without authorisation.
Three questions about an AltusFX bonus
- Before accepting any bonus from AltusFX, ask for the full bonus terms in writing and look for three things: the number of lots you must trade, whether your own deposit is locked until then, and whether profits made with bonus money can be withdrawn at all.
- If the answers are vague, decline the bonus.
- A broker that refuses to let you decline it is telling you how withdrawals will go.
