The AMF blacklist
France’s market regulator, the AMF, maintains a public blacklist of websites offering investment services to French residents without the authorisation the law requires. strath-well.com was added on 12 June 2026.
Being on that list is not a finding about any one client’s experience. It means the regulator looked for an authorisation and did not find one — so there is no supervisor, no ombudsman and no compensation scheme behind this firm, and nowhere to take a complaint if money goes in and does not come out.
Why an education site is on a broker blacklist
Teaching people about markets is not a regulated activity. Anyone may write a course. So a reasonable reader might wonder what a trading school is doing on a regulator’s list of unauthorised investment services.

What follows the €250, on operations of this shape, is a conversation with a “mentor” or “account manager” who has your phone number and a reason to call: your progress, a market opportunity, a higher tier that unlocks the strategies the basic package does not cover.

Not one mentor is named. No qualification, no firm, no regulator, no track record. In a licensed environment the person guiding your trading is a registered individual whose history you can look up, and who carries duties to you personally. Here, “experienced” is doing all of that work on its own.

What a genuine trading course looks like
It names its teachers and their backgrounds. It sells only the teaching — no platform, no signals, no account. It does not take a deposit, and it does not introduce you to a broker it is paid to introduce you to. If a course package includes somewhere to put your money, the course is not what is being sold.
Before you fund any broker account
- Look for a licence number you can check on the regulator’s own website — a company registration number is not a licence.
- Check the domain’s age and compare it with the company’s age.
- Treat a bonus of 100% or more as a warning sign. Bonus terms are the usual reason withdrawals get refused.
- Read review dates and reviewer histories. A handful of five-star reviews from one-review accounts is not a track record.
- Separate the teaching from the account. A course that comes bundled with a trading platform or signals is selling you a brokerage relationship, not an education.
