What Martingale actually does
Martingale is a staking rule, not a strategy. After a losing trade you double the next stake. After two losses you quadruple it. The logic is that a win recovers everything, and it does — right up until the run of losses outlasts the balance.
The arithmetic is unforgiving. Ten consecutive losses on a system starting at ten units requires a stake of ten thousand two hundred and forty units on the eleventh trade. On binary options, where each trade is close to a coin flip after the house edge, a run of ten is not exotic. It is a Tuesday.
The account does not die slowly
This is why Martingale is so dangerous in an automated product. A human doubling down feels the fear and stops. A bot does not. It executes the rule at machine speed, overnight, while the user sleeps, and the equity curve looks flawless until the moment it is a straight line to zero.
Users who see nothing but small wins for weeks conclude the bot works. What they have actually seen is the profitable part of a distribution whose losing tail has not arrived yet.
Eighty per cent of what
The listing promises to “automatically filter assets 80% and above”. Eighty per cent of what, measured across how many trades, over what period, is never stated. It reads as an accuracy figure and commits to nothing.
Pair it with Martingale and the claim becomes self-defeating. If the filter really delivered eighty per cent, no doubling rule would be needed. Martingale exists in this product precisely because losing runs are expected.
TALK TO ETTRAN ABOUT A RECOVERY
Its own users are not convinced
Across 100,000 installs the app holds 3.2 stars from 294 reviews. That is the one number on the page the developer did not write, and it is the lowest score in this category we have documented this month.
If a product offers you Martingale
Ask what the maximum number of consecutive doublings is before the bot stops. Ask what stake that final trade would require. Work out whether your balance covers it. If nobody can answer, the answer is that the system ends when your account does.
